TRANSPORT DRIVER
Department: OPERATIONS
Reports To: Transportation Coordinator/Assistant Operations Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following plus other duties as assigned.
- 1. Drive standard/manual and automatic transmission
vehicles to and from dealerships and on the property.
- 2. Lift the hood of a vehicle to check fluid levels and assist with jump-starting non-running vehicles plus add gas in tank as needed. Check safety of vehicles including tires, wipers, all fluids, lights, etc.
- 3. Work closely with other drivers and operations personnel as part of a multi-member team. May, when needed, drive vehicles through the Auction Barn on Sale Day.
- 4. Must be physically fit. Position requires extensive walking. Employee must be able to walk expeditiously, including up and down inclines at distances up to ½ to 1 mile at a time. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles. Must be a cautious driver with quick response reactions. Must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid drivers license. Must be comfortable driving all types of passenger vehicles. Must be flexible on hours and willing to work as needed. Must be able to work in all weather conditions; must be physically fit; position requires extensive walking in an expeditious manner to include inclines and distances up to ½ to 1 mile at a time.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school education; or up to one year related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
